hope charmaine is finding joy in her new job. (:
anyways, i did discuss with mr ngoh. he agreed to the half show mozart thingy. but he insists we put up a close to 45 min show. so that we could also do the same repertoire at esplanade in the near future. he's getting the deal closed if im not wrong. we should have 4 gigs at esplanade.
oh by the ways.. good news. i think he's buying this damn cool 5 octave marimba!! woots to whoever is playign bass. lol.
anyways, nback to the concert, regarding the repertoire, on top of those that we have practised the last time, we will be ordering a few more stuff from steve weiss. because i dunno how come but he say we got 300 bucks to spend. hahas. so note charmaine! hahas. (:
i brought up to him the point regardin the second half whr we could do novelty ensembles. he said it was great and we could develop kids programs from there. basically we needd to come up with stomp-like thingy. there are a few readily available pieces already. like stinkign garbage, brroms hilda, stick schtick, etc. furthermore, i belive these pieces we can like come up with our own rhythms just think of different things to play on. idea is to portray the idea that percussion playing is not all that rigid, but that it is fun. (:
problem being, if we do this, we would need more people. probably 4 or 5 more would be great. he suggested all females so like haha. qilin i think ur sister is in! lol. i will be asking oen of my juniors who should be generally proficient. any other suggestions. we could further discuss this dont think its a problem.
another suggestion was.. instead of the classic mallet instruments,we could make novelty small mallet toys, like tune water in glass; thumb piano; nails in box; and his tubes thingy.. so like instead of the quartets we can play certain parts of the piece on the toy. u know what im talking about? hahas.
n more notes about the concert details: ps qilin note!
- transport we have to source ourselves lar. so i think we can strart to like look for quotes or find ppl to do for us or stuff..
- poster: we need to add one more thing to the poster '"presented by percussion house pte ltd"
but this one i think dun edit first, if we change the concept of the concert then we might need to change the design or something?
- ticket/brochure: mr ngoh requested that there be a 'lucky draw' coupon like thing. for 2 purposes: 1) luckydraw to win evelyn glennie cds 2) get the contacts so we can send them promotional borochures for our next concerts. (:
